Cancellation Request Terms and Conditions 2019/20

All students will have seven days (the Initial Seven Day Period) from the payment date of their deposit (the payment date is counted as the first day) to cancel an allocation/room offer and receive a full refund of the deposit (provided the Licence Agreement does not begin within this seven day period).

After the Initial Seven Day Period as defined in regulation 9.12, the following accommodation cancellation charges will apply to cover the Replacement Costs:

  • By 31 March 2019: £50
  • By 1 August 2019: £75
  • By 31 August 2019:£100
  • From 1 September 2019: £250 (£350 for studio flats)

However if a contract is cancelled within 7 days of the Licence Agreement start date, £250 (£350 for studio flats) the deposit will be retained by the University to cover the Replacement Costs.

NOTE: If you have submitted both a studio and single room application the above conditions will apply to both applications i.e. two charges will be made, one for each application.

NOTE: Pre-sessional students who hold a summer vacation contract for 2020 and are also allocated accommodation for session 2020/21, (who subsequently wish to cancel their allocation for session 2020/21) must inform the Accommodation Centre by submitting an online cancellation request form in the Accommodation Centre Student Hub. For cancellation charges please refer to 2020/21 Residences Rules and Regulations or contact the Accommodation Centre.

All cancellations must be put in writing to the Accommodation Centre by completing the online cancellation request form located in the Accommodation Centre Student Hub.

Students on formal placement - cancelling before the start of the Licence Agreement

Undergraduate students who are subsequently offered and accept an official University placement should inform the Accommodation Centre in writing as early as possible to bac@brunel.ac.uk if they no longer require a campus room.

Provided you cancel by 1 September 2019, you will receive a full refund of the deposit. The charges set out in regulations 9.13 will apply if a room is cancelled after 1 September 2019 or after the start date of the contract. Summer Vacation

Your first weeks rent is non-refundable unless notice is given to the Accommodation Centre 7 days before the start of your contract. Notice is to be given to the Accommodation Centre using the online cancellation form located in the Accommodation Centre Student Hub.
