Room Exchange Terms and Conditions 2019/20
  • All room moves or exchanges will be subject to availability and an administration charge of £50 per room/person
  • Only one room move is permitted per academic year
  • Students with outstanding money owed to the University will not be considered for a room exchange until the outstanding fees have been paid. (eg instalments or any other accommodation related charges)
  • Residences check and approval
  • Rooms are taken as seen/found on day of exchange
  • Room exchanges are subject to availability
  • Accommodation fees will be increased or decreased where a Resident changes their type of room and these adjusted fees will be set out in the new Licence Agreement which each exchanging resident will be required to accept. Any increased fees will be payable in advance
  • Room changes to vacant rooms: after a period of 6 weeks from the start of session applications will be considered from students wanting to move to a vacant room. In the first 6 weeks of session priority will be given to students without accommodation and not to students seeking to change rooms
  • Any resident who is granted a room exchange by Accommodation Centre must return the keys for their original room to the appropriate Residences Office by 10am on the next working day following the date agreed for the move. A nightly charge for the new rooms and an overstay rate for the original room will continue to be applied for keys not returned to the Residences Office on the following working day
