Dear
Brunel's Halls of Residence are some of the best value you can find in London. All Halls of Residence are located on campus, meaning you are only minutes away from the teaching, sporting and social facilities. Each hall is unique in both character and design, but all provide a warm welcome. We have the following information compiled to assist you with choosing Brunel campus accommodation for your first year of study.
Can I change my preference of campus accommodation after applying?
If you have already submitted your application for next session but would like to change your preference for accommodation, email address, mobile number or would like to provide some extra information please submit an online amendment form.
We will endeavour to meet your preferences for accommodation, however please be advised these cannot always be possible.
Parents/Guardian information
How can my son/daughter/dependant apply for accommodation?
All applications for campus accommodation can be completed online via the Accommodation Services website please click here to apply. Applications can be made as soon as your son/daughter/dependant has an offer at Brunel University London. The earlier they apply the better the chance of meeting their room preference. Once your son/daughter/dependant has a Brunel Student number they will be able to make their application online.
Am I able to deal with my son/daughter/dependant's application etc?
We are happy to deal with a third party who is speaking on behalf of the student. All we will require is that the student declares this on the application with the details of the person they wish to give permission to and we will add this information to their accommodation account for the duration of their stay with the Brunel University Accommodation Services. This permission will only apply to Accommodation Services so you may wish to contact any other department directly if you also wish to deal with any non-accommodation matters. Students will also have the opportunity to provide/update this information when they accept their contract online.
How much will I need to pay for accommodation before my son/daughter/dependant' starts University?
We do not require students to pay anything until they have received their exam results and gained a place at the University. At the point you are made unconditional firm by the University, Accommodation Services will follow up with your campus room offer which you need to accept and at the same time pay the booking fee of £350 online by the deadline date you are given. The first instalment of rent is then due by 21 October 2015. The booking fee will be credited to the final instalment of rent in April 2015 for undergraduate length contracts and May 2015 for postgraduate length contracts.
Will the £350 booking fee be refunded if my son/daughter/dependant's; does not get into Brunel University London?Accommodation Services will not ask for the booking fee payment prior to exam results being released. The Licence Agreement and request for payment will be emailed to your son/daughter/dependant once they have their results. Should you decide to make the payment before we request it and they do not get the required results needed to come to Brunel you will be entitled to a full refund of the £350 booking fee. If for any other reason your son/daughter/dependent decides not to come to Brunel, please see below the cancellation charges which will apply:
- Cancelling within 7 days of the payment being made, a full refund of the £350 booking fee
- By 1 August 2015: £50
- By 31 August 2015: £100
- From 1 September 2015 the £350 booking fee will be retained by the University to cover the additional administration expenses incurred in finding a replacement and processing the documentation.
