As we are coming to the end of the spring term you may have some new questions for the Accommodation Services Team. Please check below for frequently asked questions during the month of March or if your question is not answered please visit our 24/7 Question and Answer Centre or chat with us online during office hours.

What happens with my room over the Easter Holidays?

If you intend to return home or go away to spend time with your loved ones for a long period (eg more than 2 weeks) over the Easter period, please notify your Residence Office but keep your keys with you. If you return your keys to your Residence Office your contract will be terminated and your room may be offered to another student. For charges relating to early termination of your contract please note the information below.

All term time contracts are inclusive of the Easter holidays, therefore rent prices reflect this regardless of whether the room is occupied during these times.

 

I am moving out, will I get a refund of any rent?


Once you hand your keys back to your Residence Office the Accommodation Services will be in contact with you via email with a breakdown of your charges and any amount outstanding. If you are due a refund you will be able to submit a refund request online.

If you vacate before the following dates:

UG, Language and PGCert length contracts:

The deadline has now passed (10am 22 February 2016) - students are charged until the end of their contract. Any payments that you make such as your booking fee or rental payments will be off-set against these charges.

PG/Research length contracts: Before 10am 4 July 2016

You will charged a £350 (£450 for studio flats) early break of contract charge and for the number of nights the room is held until the keys are returned to the Residence Office. After this date students are charged until the end of their contract. Any payments that you make such as your booking fee or rental payments will be off-set against these charges.

University Easter Break Closure

From 5pm Tuesday 22 March 2016 to 9am Wednesday 30 March 2016
