Brunel's Halls of Residence are some of the best value you can find in London. All Halls of Residence are located on campus, meaning you are only minutes away from the teaching, sporting and social facilities. Each hall is unique in both character and design, but all provide a warm welcome. We have the following information compiled to assist you with choosing Brunel campus accommodation for your first year of study.

Car Parking

The Brunel campus is very well served by public transport with the Uxbridge town centre and London Underground station only a short walk or bus ride away. All halls and most areas of the campus are provided with facilities for cycle storage.

Students (and partners in campus studio flats) living on campus or within a two mile radius of the University are not eligible to apply for an annual parking permit. They can use the pay & display areas between 8am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday. You can apply for 'Out of Hours' access which allows you to park on campus outside these hours. Once fully registered/enrolled you will need to apply for this access to be added to your Brunel Student ID card via eVision under 'My University' and then click on the relevant parking application link.

The University does of course make exceptions for blue badge holders and they can apply for a free parking permit via the Student Centre. Please note the University encourages the use of public transport and other sustainable methods of travel other than the car. Special arrangements will be in place at the start and end of each year so that new and returning students can load and unload their personal belongings (see Arriving by Car on 13 September 2015). Resident students may wish to take advantage of the car club that operates on campus. Brunel University London works in partnership with Hertz Connect to provide hire cars on campus which can be booked at very attractive rates. Full details can be found at www.hertzondemand.com.

Student Mentors

Student Mentors are employed by the University to support and advise new resident students and to promote and encourage a sense of community within the University.

Throughout your stay you may need some further help or support from time to time, and your mentors can help you with this. They are enthusiastic and interested in working with people and helping others, as well as acting as guides and role models.

Normally working in teams of two, they are available for you to contact from Monday to Thursday evenings inclusive, during term time, between the hours of 5pm and 9pm.Residences Mentors will normally be available located near your Residences Office if you would like to pop down to see them, or you can telephone, text or email them to arrange a visit. They will also be letting you know about your kitchen meetings which will start during Fresher's Week and continue during the year and will organise various events in residences. If you would like to come along or even help out please contact your mentors for details.

How to pay your rent

Payment of the termly accommodation fees is preferred by direct debit. You can set up a direct debit by clicking here. After you have moved out from campus accommodation you should cancel your direct debit by contacting your bank.

Alternatively, a recurring credit card transaction form for paying your termly accommodation fees for the academic year is available from the Cash Office by calling +44 (0)1895 265264.

How to cancel your application

Please note we operate a short deadline for payment and acceptance of the Licence Agreement, usually 2/3 days, so please ensure that you have the booking fee payment of £350 available in readiness for results day. This is to ensure we can help as many students as possible with campus rooms. Should you decide to make the payment before we request it and you do not get the results you need to come to Brunel you will be entitled to the £350 booking fee payment to be returned to you upon your request. To cancel your application you can submit an online cancellation request from by clicking here.

If you decide to cancel your Licence Agreement/room offer and have made payment of the booking fee you have 7 days from the payment date to receive a full refund of your booking fee.

After the seven day booking fee cancellation period the following single accommodation charges will apply:

  • By 1 August 2015: £50
  • By 31 August 2015: £100
  • From 1 September 2015 the booking fee will be retained by the University to cover the additional administrative expenses incurred in finding a replacement and processing their documentation.

Your £350 booking fee

Payment is required when you receive your room offer and Licence Agreement. You will be required to accept your Licence Agreement online and make the booking fee payment by the deadline date stated on your room offer to secure your campus room. If you are an International student you may wish to make this payment in advance of your room offer to ensure payment deadlines are not missed.
