Dear
As a returning student next session you will no doubt be aware that Brunel University London provides self-catering accommodation for 4,532 students including 113 studio flats for co-habiting couples. Together with some high priority students (e.g. students with disabilities, Care Leavers, Sports Scholars etc), new fresher students are also prioritised for campus rooms. Depending on fresher demand the University plans to set aside a number of rooms for returning students too. By popular request from the majority of returning students this process begins in December of each year to enable those who may not be successful with their application, to seek alternative off campus options. We therefore are pleased to announce that applications for accommodation for session 2015/16 are now available online for students who are returning to study at Brunel. Demand for returner rooms is always higher than room availability each year and therefore to ensure your application for a campus room can be processed it is important you apply and pay the relevant booking fee by the deadline dates given below.
Please note that paying and applying on time does not guarantee you a room as this is dependent on you meeting the required criteria and room availability. If your application is unsuccessful your booking fee will be automatically returned in full (subject to outstanding accommodation related charges). Unfortunately if you have outstanding money owing to the University, or currently have a Residences Alert or Ban your application will not be processed.
DEADLINE for applications and booking fee payment is FRIDAY 30 JANUARY 2015
If you would like to apply for accommodation as a returning student please complete the online application form. Priority is given as follows: full-time Researchers; Undergraduate 5th/4th year finals, 3rd year finals; 3rd year returners; and 2nd year returners. Other returning undergraduate students are also invited to apply but offers of accommodation are subject to availability. In the event that there are more applications than supply of accommodation, a ballot system will be used for the remaining rooms in accordance with accommodation policy priority. Therefore although you may apply and pay early you are not guaranteed a campus room - just guaranteed to be entered into the ballot
DEADLINE for applications and booking fee payment is FRIDAY 31 JULY 2015
If you are married, in a civil partnership, or in a long term relationship you may wish to apply for a campus studio flat as a co-habiting couple. Applications for studio flats are available online. Priority is given to first year full-time postgraduate students and full-time research students followed by 4th year final undergraduate students and 3rd year final undergraduate students. Other undergraduate students may also apply.
Part of the criteria is that you are a fully enrolled full-time student and therefore if your circumstances change between a room offer being made and session starting e.g. resit results, your offer may be withdrawn.
Please ensure you read all the terms and conditions that apply to you before submitting any application for accommodation. If you wish for further information on the University's Accommodation Policy please click here.
Please note: Submitting an application and/or paying a booking fee does not guarantee you a room.
You can find more returning student frequently asked questions in the Accommodation Services Question and Answer Centre on our website.
We look forward to receiving your completed application together with the booking fee payment by the relevant deadline date.
Kind regards
