Accommodation Services Advisor

What’s your role and how long have you worked in Accommodation Services? I am the Accommodation Services Advisor and have been in this role for nearly 8 years. I deal with student enquiries via the Online Chat, telephone, emails and at the counter.
What do you find the most challenging thing in your job? I think it’s when I have a student who is not happy about where they are staying or are desperate for a room during term time. As a mother myself, I would like to think I do my best to help them. However, as we are usually at full occupancy it is not always possible to move them but we will always try our best to help them as soon as we possibly can.
What is your favourite part about working at Brunel? Feeling that you have helped a student, so that they can make a decision about where they want to live, while studying at Brunel.
If you were stuck on an island, what three things would you bring? I would take my hard drive which has photos of my children and husband. (However, how would I see them without electricity and a computer). I would have to take my toothbrush as you have to have a clean mouth. Maybe I should take a book as I would have so much time to read it.
What book did you read last? I’m ashamed to say this but I have not read a book in years.
If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it be? It would have to be a cheese salad sandwich on fresh granary or seeded wholemeal bread.
What is your favourite hall of residence and why? Mill Hall – The corridor layout can be more friendlier than the flat layout as you see more people in and around your corridor. If you’re a social person then this is perfect for you. You can make more friends. The kitchens are shared by up to 16 students but they are larger. You will only have access to 1 kitchen in your corridor but then you will have more flatmates to share with and sit around the dinning table to study together or just share food and you will hopefully make life long friends. It’s also conveniently placed near to the bus stop.
